The #GOESWest 🛰️ is using its #WaterVapor imagery to track a powerful storm system moving across the southern Plains that will bring the chance of severe thunderstorms, high winds, and some spring snow to start the week.
The 24hr precip totals from 7am Saturday to 8am Sunday (thanks DST 😉) shows how intense the weather has been over the Central Rockies/Plains. In a single day an impressive 6" of rain fell in southern Nebraska, while a whopping 52.5" (4+ feet) of snow fell in eastern Wyoming 😲.
Notice the hazy skies over the Great Lakes region this morning? That's smoke from the Canadian wildfires filtering into the area. #GOESEast also spotted some fog in West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina. More imagery: https://t.co/FvzrjEjY7N
