I worked with Bishop Burbidge @BishopBurbidge when he was Bishop of Raleigh, to pass Amendment One into the constitution of the state of North Carolina. I served as campaign chair.
We were under immense attack, but with the help of Billy Graham, Bishop Burbidge, and Bishop Jugis, we won by over 61 percent. This was one of the strongest marriage amendments in the country, and it was passed in 2012. Let that be a reminder that the people did not redefine marriage---our unelected judges did.
I am not surprised he is standing strong to defeat the abortion amendments in Virginia.
A great shepherd, who understands the importance of life and family.
Update from Dubrovnik. Great to be with US Special Envoy for Trade, Nick Adams, MEP, Stephan Bartulica, and ECR Secretary General, Antonio Giordano in Dubrovnik #croatia for third European Congress of Families.
@NickAdamsinUSA@SBartulica@Giordano__Ant
My good friend, Stephen Bartulica, MEP from Croatia just gave awesome opening speech for European Congress of Families.
A great man and political leader. Glad to have him as a friend.
#croatia
At opening of European Congress of Families in Dubrovnik. Such amazing conservatives coming from around Europe including my good friends from @aurparty in Romania.

The new Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Hon. Matthew Wale is under attack. A strong Christian who is devoted to life and family, he is also rooting out corruption in the Solomons. A group of MPs has called for a vote on his removal, which will happen on Monday. Christians in the Solomons have created a website and petition to support him. I know the Solomons are far away, but there are only 193 sovereign nations in the United Nations--and it is critical that we have Christian leaders like Matthew Wale advancing life and family in their own country and at the UN.
IF YOU KNOW ANYONE IN THE SOLOMONS, FORWARD THIS MESSAGE AND ASK THEM TO SIGN AND CALL THEIR MP TO VOTE NO ON MOTION OF NO CONFIDENCE.

Honored to have visit with President of Bougainville, Ismael Toarama, to discuss family and Christian values in the area. Bougainville will soon become the next new country in the world, following an overwhelming, 97.7% vote for independence from Papua New Guinea.
This is such a bad read.
1. Adams was not using "liberty" in the way that James implies. The word liberty did not primarily mean "freedom to do as one wants" to our founders. It definitely did not do so in Adams', A Dissertation on the Canon and the Feudal Law. It meant a lot of things (connected back to Country Whig thought) for Adams, but primarily that corrupt, decadent, feudal institutions (oligarchy and Catholicism) should not emasculate the public virtue of a country founded on a non-servile religion (non-conforming Protestantism). In this context, it means that Protestant ministers should be free from control of corrupt ideas and institutions that would push them to support the Stamp Act. There is a lot here, and yes, conceptions of virtue, manliness, and decadence played a major role in his thought, though you hear little of this in high school history classes. As with almost all of the founding generation, Catholicism was a representation of what not to do. Look, I'm a Catholic. But that was what Adams thought. At least that is what he thought in 1765.
2. Adams practically realized that on a federal level, some form of freedom to practice religion should be allowed. But it was never absolute, especially not on a state level. He also later softened (a bit) on Catholicism. But he never deviated in his view that America was a country of manly freeholders; he was Puritan in outlook, if not always in worship, well-read in Roman thought and the Country Whig tradition, seeing "liberty" as connected to public virtue and a rejection of "effeminate" slavishness to a decadent hierarchy. A non-decadent hierarchy of merit and virtue, of independent, God-fearing men working toward the "public good"--that he was for. That was the basis of Federalism and its rejection of Jefferson's embrace of a more individualistic conception of liberty.
3. Early Adams was different than later Adams. He matured and, for example, supported the Alien and Sedition Acts, which most "classical liberals" hate. Talk about support for the common good! Adams was 100 percent OK with limiting the rights of foreigners and the press in the nascent republic in order to protect the common good.
4. Arguments over what liberty meant (then as now) were key to the party system. From the beginning, America had two major camps, with competing conceptions of liberty and virtue--Federalists and Democratic-Republicans. There were some interesting exceptions to this bifurcated understanding of liberty (John Randolph of Roanoke, for example--"I love liberty; I hate equality."), but a key to understanding American politics and the various later two-party systems, is to understand them as an extended argument over "liberty."
A very under-read contribution to the current common good argument is Barry Alan Shain's, The Myth of American Individualism. Clearly there is another story of the lived experience of early America where local communities greatly limited license for the benefit of the common good. I did not agree with all of the conclusions, but worth the read.
Nature is healing.
✅@BernardArnault refused to kowtow to the legacy media and is now on @X
✅Remigration is supported by @DHSgov
✅ @SaveEuropeAct is killing it with signatures and showing what democracy actually looks like.
✅A movie I am distributing, https://t.co/6skVEKsZ6T, telling the story of the heroes of Right in France and how the Left engaged in the first modern genocide against Catholic royalists is getting a ton of views...without even being on Netflix or Prime.
✅States like Tennessee, Alabama, and Indiana are counterprogramming against the LGBTQIA, etc. agenda. And the executive branch is going all-in against trans insanity. Congress should pass the Protect Children's Innocence Act (sign the petition at https://t.co/JKBiqfPPGy
Of course there is a ton to do. But conservatism is rising across the globe.
So much would be different without Trump's victory. Don't forget it!
I want to say that no one takes this insanity seriously anymore, but then I remember that almost all of schools are filled with teachers who indoctrinate our children with this drivel.
Still work to be done...
for @RichLowry
"Was he really supposed to show, among other things, the mythical Greek hero slaughtering unarmed suitors, ordering the execution of the household maids (after forcing them to clean up the gore from the massacre of suitors), sleeping around with nymphs, and abducting women from Cicones? "
The answer, of course, is YES.
Nolan's movie is simply not The Odyssey.
Americans must realize that Christians were being killed in Bosnia by Iranian extremists back in the 90s. We helped their side. Total disaster. My prayer is that Orthodox Serbs and Catholic Croats work together to stop the radical Muslim takeover of Bosnia happening now.
I told you @magyarpeterMP would be an absolute disaster for Hungary.
Also, this is another reminder that data is King in the political fight with the left. Don't host on AWS, or OVH. Get on https://t.co/nSPBLWBq7h if you don't want libs to have your data and shut you down.
