On November 7, 1987 Scottie Pippen made his
NBA debut for the Chicago Bulls in a 104-94 win over the Philadelphia 76ers at Chicago Stadium. Pippen came off the bench to score 10 points and hand out 4 assists. Chicago's Michael Jordan led all scorers with 36 points while Bulls forward Charles Oakley pulled down 21 rebounds. The game also marked Horace Grant's NBA debut for the Bulls as well. Pippen was selected fifth overall in the 1987 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics, who traded his rights to the Bulls for center Olden Polynice. The Bulls then chose Grant with the tenth pick in the draft. Pippen and Grant became part of Chicago's young forward tandem, although both came off the bench to back up Brad Sellers and Oakley respectively, during their rookie seasons.
