#BREAKING: Suspect In Custody from Wayne County Homicide

WAYNE COUNTY, Utah - The suspect of a triple homicide in Wayne County, Utah, is in custody early Thursday morning after investigators tracked him in one of the victims' vehicles. The vehicle was tracked through southern Utah into northern Arizona and eventually into Colorado. Colorado law enforcement located the vehicle abandoned in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, and after a brief search, took the individual into custody without incident.

The investigations continue into Thursday morning as members of the Utah State Bureau of Investigation and the Utah Crime Lab process two crime scenes in the Lyman and Torrey area.

There are no ongoing threats to the public, and investigators have no outstanding suspects.

#Breaking #Update The Utah Department of Public Safety (DPS) is assisting in an active homicide investigation in Wayne County following the discovery of three deceased women in the Torrey area and surrounding regions.

According to a press release from Utah DPS, authorities were called Wednesday afternoon after reports of two deceased females found on a hiking trail. During the ongoing investigation, a third victim was located deceased at a residence in Wayne County.

The victims have been described as:
• Victim 1: Female in her 30s
• Victim 2: Female in her 60s
• Victim 3: Female in her 80s
Identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The Utah DPS State Bureau of Investigation and Crime Lab are assisting the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office in processing multiple scenes in Torrey and nearby areas.

Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in locating a 2022 white Subaru Outback with Utah license plate U560YF, which is believed to be connected to the case. Authorities have urged anyone who sees the vehicle not to approach it and to report any sightings or tips immediately to [email protected], [phone], or by calling 911.

With the suspect still at large, officials are advising residents in Torrey and surrounding Wayne County areas to exercise heightened caution. Recommendations include locking doors and windows, staying home or in groups when possible, remaining vigilant about surroundings, and reporting any suspicious activity to 911 right away.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further details on suspects, motives, or circumstances have been released at this time.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect tonight through Thursday for portions of Utah’s mountains as a weak but efficient system moves through. Snow develops mainly at higher elevations with the best forcing lining up over the terrain.

🏔️ Snow totals:
• Most mountain locations: 6–12 inches
• Favored upper elevations: locally higher amounts possible

Valley impacts stay limited to rain, but expect slick travel in the canyons and over mountain passes, especially during periods of heavier snow.
