@313Hockey@ProjctRated@NathanGraviteh Minnesota can easily make other trades to facilitate this.
Gus. Yurov. Stramel. 2027 1st. All pieces that they can ship to get the needed assets. Detroit won't get paid in full regardless because of this mismanagement
@NathanGraviteh If Detroit wanted to avoid this situation they could have paid him 2m extra per season to not have the NTC or offer 4 less years and he'd be leaving as a UFA.
I cant comprehend how anyone blames Larkin for Yzerman's continual failures
@_HockeyTonk Crazy how fans blame him that he took a team friendly contract saving Detroit millions for a NTC in return. and now wants out after Yzerman project clearly isn't working. Why should Larkin spend his entire career golfing?
Actually insane to defend the Red Wings front office
@CharlesMartel_3@J_Starseed444@BR_OpenIce@HeleneStJames GMs never had to accept the NTC in negotiations either. Its really that simple.
He's been on a very team friendly contract for a reason - high years, lower aav, always comes with a NTC. Otherwise the price goes up 20%
@redblue325@frank_seravalli Dallas is obviously on the decline (Stanley Cup window over but they'll be in the playoffs) and they don't have one of his best friends - Hughes. His other choices offer warm weather and tax breaks.
Hope this helps
@LovelyRipley@OhNyquist Almost every team has the assets, one way or the other. Still don't know why he'd go to Montreal vs other teams if he had to chose, and pay a higher tax rate.
@julians_world@AdamSchefter I'm sure your outrage posts for the Jets, 49ers and others is well documented.. or do you prefer they sell the team so its PR is clean for you... pussy
@Dyl1111520@othockeytalk True but if Larkin pushes for only Minnesota then Detroit's hands could be tied a bit. I doubt Guerin would screw anyone over as its a league built on respect but I could see Billy doing a 3 way trade and moving draft picks to get Detroit what they need and us retaining Ek
@Dyl1111520@othockeytalk I don't disagree that its possible... would think more in line for Mathews than Larkin. Regardless, I'm not against it but Ek and Larkin isn't a massive gap
@othockeytalk@Dyl1111520@NathanGraviteh Minnesota has that as well and are able to move several pieces for a #1 center. Guerin will not be shy and no matter what Detroit won't get fair value if Larkin doesn't let this become a bidding war
