Northern Ireland has become the first part of the UK to introduce additional restrictions for new drivers in what's been called the 'most significant reform to driver licensing in 70 years'.

There are a number of new measures coming into effect from today, including a 6-month minimum learning period and the removal of the current 45mph speed restriction.

All households in Northern Ireland will receive a £63 discount off electricity bills in October, Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald has announced.

The household electricity discount will be applied automatically by electricity suppliers.

Tomorrow marks the 25th anniversary of the terror attacks in the United States, which claimed the lives of almost 3,000 people.

Four passenger planes were hijacked - two of which hit the Twin Towers in New York.

Following the attack, former UTV journalist Ivan Little travelled to the city to report on the horror of that day and the aftermath.
