People need to have hobbies again.

Had a job interview last week and asked the candidate what she does outside of work.

She said "My current hobby is to build, build, build."

And she wasn't the first one to say that.

Is this the new normal?

Do people just say it to sound productive in interviews?

I'm obsessed with product building too…. but I don't let it near my hobbies.

Between growing @uxpilotai to $4M ARR and running a team of dozens, I still watch underground films, sit through classical concerts, walk into art museums in Vienna, hike on weekends, and more.

None of it builds anything, and that's the point.

I need time to rest.
I need time to absorb new things.

And most solutions don't show up at my desk either way, they show up when I least expect them.

So if I can run a company with dozens of people and still have time for myself…

Find that time in yours too.

Don't turn all your free time into a business. Live life, and enjoy 🙂
