@BBCr4today Folks, the point is not the licence as much as the learning that leads up to it. Of course it isn't enforceable. That's not the point. The point is to learn how to be safer in the online world which has its own unique hazards. I did not know about the existing ECLD or ICLD effort

My wife and I enjoyed spending time with Fred at the annual Heidelberg Laureate Forum. He was a kind and gentle mensch and enthusiastic about his work until his death. He will be missed sorely but remembered with gratitude for his major contributions to computing technology.

Sad news: Frederick Brooks, the famed computer architect who designed OS/360, died Thursday.
A true icon, who won the Turing Award in 2000, Brooks was one of the great thinkers in computing. Industry tributes are pouring in the celebration of his contribution and life.
