When one manโs living room doubles as your party headquarters, even his chef and nanny get to pick the senatorial candidate from your hometown.
This is juvenile political maturity at its finest. Simply unbelievable!
I have just read the communique released by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) under the leadership of His Grace Archbishop Daniel Okoh from the 2026 National Church Leaders Summit and I align with the concern and sympathies of the Church in Nigeria over the security of the lives of Nigerians.
The demand for a comprehensive review of the nationโs security architecture, enhanced intelligence gathering, stronger inter-agency cooperation, improved operational effectiveness and greater accountability in the fight against terrorism, banditry and violent crime, are all fully in line with my position on the failure of the Tinubu-led Federal Government.
It is encouraging for Nigerians to see Christians from various denominations and blocs unite in this spiritual wake-up call upon the political leadership to do better. From the Catholic Secretariat to the Christian Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN), the Organisation of African Instituted Churches to the TEKAN/ECWA and other Christian blocs in Nigeria, the declaration of a three-day period of national mourning should serve as moments of reflection for all political leaders, especially those in power with the responsibility to do better by Nigerians.
As insecurity ravages without concern for religious or ethnic differences which have been made more glaring by the 360 degrees failure of the incumbent government, I commend this noble effort to hold the ruling party accountable and encourage solidarity from all Nigerians in this regard. I enjoin other faith organisations especially of the Muslim block to lend their voices to this wake-up call.
On behalf of the political opposition whom Tinubu has ignored as well as the Nigerian people, I urge Tinubu to listen to this urgent call from CAN and diligently ponder his courses of action beyond rhetorics, at least for his remaining months in office. -AA

The killing of Rev. Fr. Paul Offu in Enugu State is yet another reminder that no one is immune from this ravaging epidemic. My deepest condolences to the Offu family and the Catholic Church in Nigeria. May his soul Rest In Peace.
Babachir inadvertently did the opposite of what he intended to achieve.
He managed to get even those in the APC to speak in support of AA.
Anyway, congratulations to all ADC members on the inglorious exit of BD Lawal, aka the grasscutter!
PRESS RELEASE
Babachir Lawal and his substance-induced fabrication of lies
The attention of the Atiku Media Office has been drawn to the needless and senseless attack on the person and character of the former Vice President of Nigeria and the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2027 election, Atiku Abubakar.
Ordinarily, the verbal vituperation and the utter rubbish churned out by Babachir Lawal would have been better ignored as the ranting of a man high on substance, but for the overriding need to put the records straight.
A statement by the Media office in Abuja, explained that, while former SGF Babachir Lawal has the right to resign from ADC and is free to do so because political parties are voluntary associations of people, he is not entitled to cast aspersions on Atiku based entirely on fabricated and brazen lies.
According to the statement, accusing Atiku of religious bigotry or nepotism is one of the laziest and most ridiculous lies anyone can spread against the former Vice President.
The statement explained that Atiku Abubakar is one of the most liberal politicians in Nigeria and his record in this regard is there for anyone to verify.
"As far as we are concerned, Babachir was perfectly describing his own character rather than Atiku's. The former SGF seeks power on the altar of dividing the people based on primordial sentiments. All his altercations with people are caused by his selfishness. He opportunistically panders to sentiments to achieve his ambition. None of his struggles are influenced by the larger interests of his people or Nigeria," the statement added.
The statement noted further that a man who is a notorious conflict entrepreneur like Babachir Lawal is not qualified to speak about what is good for Nigeria."
"When Babachir said he resigned from ADC because of the so-called rigging or manipulations during the primaries, he didn't offer any proof of his allegations.
"And instead of offering evidence of his allegations, he went further to drag Atikuโs family into the issue which was irrelevant to the issue of primaries. It's evident from the load of garbage published by the former SGF that he holds personal animosity against Atiku Abubakar."
The statement advised Lawal to search his conscience and stop feeding the cauldron of division and bigotry among Nigerians for his own selfish interests.
"There is no such thing as a Muslim and Christian party in Nigeria. When the outcome of a competition doesn't favour you, you should petition the party to show proof of manipulations or rigging. It's however most irresponsible for a former SGF to turn himself into an agent of division.
Signed:

A new report from the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) confirms Fulani militants caused more deaths than Boko Haram or ISIS over the past year by mostly targeting Christian farming communities in Nigeria.
Commenting on the report, Open Doors CEO Henrietta Blyth said:
"My heart has been broken as I have heard stories from women and men who have seen their beloved family members butchered in front of them or carried off into a life of slavery."
This afternoon, I visited my brother and compatriot, former Governor of Rivers State and ex-Minister of Transportation, Chief Rotimi Amaechi, at his Abuja residence.
Beyond the warmth and camaraderie, we had deep and honest conversations about the troubling state of our nation, the growing economic pain, insecurity, and the urgent responsibility on patriotic Nigerians to continue engaging in the search for solutions that can rescue our country from drift and despair.
I also felicitated with him on the occasion of his birthday yesterday and teased that Arsenalโs historic triumph could not have arrived at a better time. Chief Amaechi, a thoroughly well-loaded Gunner, took the banter in very good spirits.
In true Rivers hospitality, he apologised for not having enough time to prepare Fisherman Soup, a delicacy I have now been promised on our return for the second leg ๐. -AA
It actually hurts that my brother thinks I would diss him in anyway. Itโs literally a misunderstanding. @seyi_vibez itโs all love bro, when youโre ready to talk it out Iโm here !! โค๏ธ4L ABURO MI
