A COVER STORY BOUND TO HAPPEN—SOONER…OR SLAYYYTER!
Comparing Slayyyter to Princess Diana is ludicrous. One is a seasoned, 29-year-old pop star—and an unconventional one at that—who raps about how she gets “so gay off that tequila” and has a song called “Throatzillaaa,” whereas the other was an aristocrat-turned-British-royal whose married life and tragic passing were the undeniable epicenter of ‘90s pop culture. But if Princess Diana was the People’s Princess, then Slayyyter may just be pop’s closest modern equivalent: an artist elevated not by industry gatekeepers or million-dollar marketing campaigns, but by a fiercely devoted audience who spent years championing her until the rest of the world finally caught on: https://t.co/qW52HQoCjp

Between @HolHumberstone’s debut album, ‘Paint My Bedroom Black,’ and her recently released sophomore album, ‘Cruel World,’ a lot has shifted. “This past year and a half, I’ve rediscovered bits of me that used to be so integral to who I am,” the musician tells V.
When it comes to songwriting, her creative world has expanded. For ‘Cruel World,’ Humberstone approached the process “with an open mind and “learned to take it less seriously.” In shaping the visual aesthetic for the new album, Humberstone collaborated with her sister alongside Creative Director Silken Weinberg. “I wanted it to feel like this fantasy world inspired by everything that I used to love as a kid.”
With performances at major festivals lined up this year, along with a North American tour, there seems to be no slowing down for Humberstone—and she prefers it that way.

Following the frenzy that ‘The Substance’ brought to both @justdemi and Hollywood, her next act might be her most adventurous: a surreal, fashion-infused crime comedy titled ‘I Love Boosters.’
Moore stars as Christie Smith, a ruthless and stylish fashion mogul, alongside fellow industry vet Keke Palmer as Corvette—the leader of a chic crew of criminals who engage in fashion-forward philanthropy by stealing designer goods.
“I don’t even know if, after I read [the script for ‘I Love Boosters’], I fully understood it. But I understood that to go on the journey with him, when I got to the other side, I would have more of me—that there would be something more expanded in me, in every respect.”
