A big model for a small lens!
Delighted to see #ArtIOLs on display as we launch in the Philippines.
Our inverted meniscus design brings years of visual optics research into an intraocular lens designed to benefit patients worldwide.

Very impressive clinical results for ArtIOLs presented today at the @Voptica booth by Dr. Sunil Shah.
@ESCRSofficial
Excellent outcomes and superior performance compared with other EDOF lenses evaluated.
Great to see clinical evidence confirming the strength of our approach!
Visual Optics meeting @VPOptics in Cartagena.
If I count my former PhD students, postdocs, and their students, a striking share of this photo is that tree.
It is like a lineage... grateful for the decades of mentoring and for the people who made it worth it.

Lecturing today at the @VPOptics meeting in Cartagena!
Explaining our work @Lo_um@UMU on 2-photon vision with infrared!
An amazing new approach to "hack" the visual system.
Seeing with invisible light! 👁️🤪
I have written and published a practical guide to cataracts.
It is my first venture into this kind of patient-oriented science communication, after many years of receiving questions and requests for advice on the subject.
The book is entitled: "I Have Cataracts: What Do I Need to Know?" and is intended for patients and their families.
My aim is to provide clear, objective, and non-promotional information about cataract diagnosis, surgery, and the decisions that really matter.

How can an inverted meniscus improve intraocular lens design?
In this short AECOS lecture in Madrid, I discuss the thinking behind ArtIOLs and our latest developments in next-generation IOLs.

Returning home from another stimulating trip to China.
Travel is more than moving between places, it is an opportunity to broaden perspectives.
Science advances through curiosity, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas across cultures.
And some time to relax in nature...

I am delighted to announce that the 2nd Edition of the Handbook of Visual Optics is now available!
This fully updated two-volume reference covers the entire field of visual optics, from eye optics and visual perception to adaptive optics, OCT, wavefront sensing, vision correction, refractive surgery, advanced IOL technologies, and many other recent developments.
Nearly a decade after the first edition, it has been fascinating to revisit the field and document the remarkable advances that continue to transform vision science and ophthalmic optics.
My sincere thanks to the outstanding contributors and colleagues from around the world whose expertise and dedication made this project possible.
The book is currently available at a promotional price.

Vuelvo a publicar en @JotDownSpain un artículo largo: “¿El fin de las publicaciones científicas?”
Es una reflexión sobre un asunto que me preocupa, escrita desde mi experiencia durante décadas como investigador y editor.
