Today is our regular meeting, the first outing of the new team. It’s also the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar when the Royal Navy under Admiral Lord Nelson, defeated the combined fleets of France and Spain, effectively scuppering Emperor Napoleon’s plans to invade Britain.

Busy day at VSL. Lodge open at 10:30, Past Masters Passed Bro Neil Middlehurst to the degree of a Fellow Craft. At 12:00, Lodge regular officers initiated Mr Dale Hillier. Bro Chris Bartlett was elected Master for the ensuing year. Lively festive board with a superb curry.

Fantastic day at VSL today. PGM @jw_hamble dedicated our Lodge banner and presented the Lodge our Festival Silver award. We dedicated our honours board and became members of the Circuit of Service Lodges. A lively festive board enjoyed by all the brethren present.

Busy @VSL9969 yesterday. VO presented GL Cert to Bro Ian Ward. 4 brethren balloted & welcomed as joining members. Initiation, Rupert Barrett,ex fireman. MCF2027 Festival Bronze certificate presentation. Lively festive board, a Mexican flavour, food, sombrero's & poncho's.

A wonderful day yesterday at Vectis Services Lodge for the Installation of W.Bro. Arthur Niblett as W.M. together with the appointment and investing of officers of the lodge. Many visitors enjoyed a splendid and lively festive board. The usual banter was very much in evidence.

Today is Armed Forces Day, we show support to all our service men and women, present & past. There are many events around the country including here on the Island. Vectis Services Lodge 9969 are holding an Armed Forces Day Dinner, to raise funds for the Veterans Hub at Ryde.

Armed Forces Day and Head of @HantsMason @jw_hamble signs the Armed Forces Covenant in Winchester's historic Great Hall.
Pledging continued support for all military personnel and veterans the Covenant was co-signed with @LeoDochertyUK Minister for Defence People & Veterans.

Today members of VSL paid their respects to Veterans of the Falklands War at a ceremony in Newport.

Our Primus Master WBro David Hilton MBE, laid a wreath on behalf of the Lodge.

Today, we celebrate the beginning of Her Majesty The Queen’s historic Platinum Jubilee Weekend. We thank Her Majesty for 70 years of dedication and service to the Nation & Commonwealth.
