Your brain literally processes text differently after age 25.
The prefrontal cortex doesn’t fully myelinate until your mid-twenties. That’s the region responsible for abstract reasoning, long-term consequence modeling, and emotional regulation. When your English teacher assigned you The Great Gatsby at 16, you were reading it with a brain that couldn’t yet simulate regret.
This is why rereading hits so differently. You’re running the same input through fundamentally different neural architecture.
At 16, your brain processes Gatsby’s obsession as plot. At 35, your amygdala fires because you’ve lived through your own version of chasing something that was already gone. The text stays identical. Your pattern-matching library has 20 more years of emotional data to draw from.
There’s a compounding effect here. Every major life experience you’ve had (grief, love, failure, parenthood) creates new associative networks that literature can activate. A teenager reading King Lear has zero reference frames for watching a parent lose their mind. A 45-year-old who’s watched a parent decline reads it and their entire autobiographical memory network lights up.
The smartest readers I know reread more than they read new books. The ROI on rereading increases every year you’re alive because you are the variable that changed, and the returns compound with experience.
Bruno Fernandes' rating by season: 2nd, 13th, 1st, 4th, 3rd & 2nd. He's always been one of the best players. His adaptation to a new role is so impressive because the transition has been seamless.
He will never get the respect he deserves, but history will remember him as a legend of not only Manchester United, but English football as a whole. People take him for granted, but they'll miss him when he's gone.
Manchester United knew they needed a goalkeeper, signed Senne Lammens & yet almost a month later he is sitting on the bench while the struggles continue.
Kobbie Mainoo offers a point of difference in midfield, but the club's best creator in Bruno Fernandes is shoehorned into a role that minimises his best skills.
Leny Yoro is the club's most complete defender, yet sits on the bench while the back three struggles for speed & gives up goals that are easily preventable.
The players are not free of blame. The mistakes they make are sometimes unfathomable, but Ruben Amorim does not place them in positions to succeed.
Why adjustments aren't being made to suit the squad that's being built & the league you're in. If you don't have everything you need, adapt to what you do have.
Part of understanding Wayne Rooney is not simply pouring through his stats to understand his greatness & impact. He played out wide in a front three, behind the striker, as the striker, in midfield, he prioritised winning above his numbers & desire to win awards.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez, Dimitar Berbatov, Robin van Persie, no matter who it was he adapted & thrived to do what was best for Manchester United. It's easy to misjudge his football IQ because of his raw talent, but he had it all.
A true one of one footballer. Underrated to this day.
Indonesian political parties have agreed to revoke parliamentarians’ perks, including allowances and the ban on overseas work trips, President Prabowo Subianto says.
Protests began in Jakarta over reports that all 580 politicians would receive a $4,650 monthly housing allowance in addition to their salaries.

How Rakan KKM works (using a restaurant analogy):
The restaurant is full. Customers are told that they have to wait an average of 45 minutes for their meal (the ones who came in last have to wait even longer).
Then the restaurant suddenly opens up another small section -- this section has more comfortable chairs and nicer table cloth, also some paintings on the wall behind.
But the biggest pull for this new section is that customers get served ahead of the rest of the restaurant.
You get the same menu, but prices are much higher. It doesn't matter though -- the food here is still cheaper but just as good as other high-end restaurants. Plus what you're really paying for is priority service at this popular restaurant.
So customers in this special section for "Friends" place their orders, even though the kitchen is already struggling with the huge number of orders from the rest of the restaurant.
When the restaurant opened up this new section, the restaurant owners didn't hire more staff, be it kitchen staff like station chefs or front-of-house staff like waiters.
So regular customers now have to wait 1.5 hours instead of 45 minutes, because the Friends section is getting served first by the same number of staff, who are using the same kitchen and equipment that was originally purchased for the regular customers.
Some of the regular customers decide to move tables and join the Friends section to get faster service, borrowing money from friends to afford the higher prices.
Most of the people in this Friends section, though, are new customers who decided to visit the restaurant because this new section opened up, with the promise of a 15-minute wait for the food instead of the usual 45 minutes.
As complaints mount, both from the Friends section and the rest of the restaurant, the restaurant owners tell staff to utilize a mini kitchen behind that had never been used before because there weren't enough staff.
Customers' tips (part of the bill) go to the staff. The executive chef decides how to divvy up the tips among her colleagues (other chefs, hosts, bussers and waiters) who had served the Friends section.
The revenue from the Friends section is used to upgrade some kitchen equipment, but it's not enough to hire way more staff or to build another large kitchen because there isn't enough room in the restaurant. Some new staff do get hired, but they're mainly hired to replace the ones who quit.
The revenue certainly isn't enough to open up another fully-staffed and equipped restaurant.
But investors are willing to pump in extra money to expand the Friends section. So more new customers join the Friends section. Regular customers' waiting times increase from 1.5 hours to 2 hours. The Friends section has to wait 30 minutes for their food now, instead of 15 minutes.
So on it goes, until the entire restaurant is fully converted into a Friends restaurant and all customers now have to wait 45 minutes, the same waiting time before the Friends section first opened up, albeit with more expensive food this time.
I don’t understand men’s obsession with young girls. Kenapa nak kawin with 12 years old? Have you seen 12 years old? They literally look like kids. How can you be attracted to that? I’m not reading a whole ass statement about you justifying the actions. I need to know how and why
She's 23. Meaning in 2004, when Ronaldo was making the UEFA team of the season, she was 2 years old..
Unless you watched footballers with your own two eyes, you shouldn't talk with this much confidence like you watched both play
