@aikial1977@Mise_Fein Actually, the former geographical term was politicised by people who sought dominion over people and lands which they had no right to. Its more modern sectarian and political nature is a British invention, not an Irish one.

@sashameetsrus Also, the M-R Pact divided Europe into spheres of influence between the Nazis and Soviet Union. Its why the SU invaded Poland with the Nazis, and forced the Baltic States to accept the establishment of Soviet military bases on their territory, defacto occupying them.
@sashameetsrus They fought on the side of the Nazi's to regain territories lost after being invaded by the Soviet Union in the 1939 Winter War. The Winter War, which you mentioned, was a direct result of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, a treaty signed by the Nazis and Soviet Union.
