if India expects its educated class to have more kids, then following should be the norm:

- Large families are seen as high status, not a sacrifice.
- Women find identity and meaning in motherhood specifically.
- Extended family networks distribute the childcare load (the old joint family model)
- Economic models support single-income households adequately.
