ರಾಯಚೂರಿನ RIMS ವೈದ್ಯರಾದ ಡಾ. ಬಸವರಾಜ್ ಎಂ. ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ಅವರು 60 ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 1,300 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ಸೈಕಲ್ ಸವಾರಿ ಮೂಲಕ ನಶಾಮುಕ್ತ ಭಾರತ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಸಂದೇಶ ಸಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು RGUHS ಕುಲಪತಿ ಡಾ. ಭಗವಾನ್ ಬಿ.ಸಿ. ಅವರು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ರಾಜೀವ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಗಳ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿರುವ ಎರಡನೇ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ರೂಪರೇಷೆಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಇಂದು (oct 7, 2026) ಸಭೆ ಕರೆಯಾಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾಲಯದ ಕುಲಪತಿಗಳಾದ ಡಾ. ಭಗವಾನ್ ಬಿ . ಸಿ . ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ಕುರಿತು ಸಮಗ್ರವಾಗಿ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದರು.

ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸುವುದು, ಕನ್ನಡ ವೈದ್ಯ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಉತ್ತೇಜನ ನೀಡುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬಳಕೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸುವುದು ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ಉದ್ದೇಶವಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಡಾ. ಭಗವಾನ್ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

RGUHS Steps Up Menopause Care, Awareness and Support for Women

Bengaluru: Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) is set to strengthen its focus on menopause and midlife women’s health through a comprehensive approach combining clinical care, awareness, professional training and academic initiatives.

A committee meeting held at RGUHS discussed the establishment of dedicated menopause clinics, awareness programmes for women, capacity-building initiatives for ASHA workers, ANMs and nursing personnel, as well as short-term certificate courses, CMEs and research collaborations with medical colleges.

The University is also exploring collaboration with the Indian Menopause Society (IMS) to develop academic programmes and professional training in menopause and midlife healthcare.

Actress and former MP Ramya (Divya Spandana), who is the brand ambassador for Karnataka’s Ruthutaare menopause support programme, attended the meeting and participated in discussions on improving awareness, support systems and access to quality healthcare for women during menopause and midlife.

The committee recommended adopting a phased approach, beginning with awareness, clinical services, capacity building and professional education. The feasibility of introducing a formal RGUHS Fellowship in Menopause and Midlife Women’s Health will be evaluated subsequently.

The initiative marks an important step towards placing menopause and midlife women’s health higher on the public-health and academic agenda, while promoting informed, accessible and comprehensive care for women.
