Krishna followed Brahmacharya for 12 years after his marriage with Rukmini. She also followed it along with him.
Those who have enough self control and want merit of Dharma should follow Brahmacharya as much as possible for them.
@mitrajo Nowhwre in Manusmriti women are equated to Animals, in fact it mandates us to respect women and make sure they are happy.
Also Manusmriti is quoted in all serious Dharmika works.
The real teaching comes from Vedas that was taken by Buddhism.
"One who sees all living beings as he sees himself has no attachment or sorrows for the one who sees oneness"
- Yajurveda
Buddhists took a lot of things from Hinduism but it does not really fit their philosophical model.
Christian morality tells you that humans have dominion over animals and are far more valuable, while Buddhism tells you that all animals possess Buddha-nature and share a universal kinship.
YHWH drowned animals and commanded their killing; the Buddhas, by contrast, saved animals.
@mitrajo You form opinions with zero knowledge, it's not a good thing. Manusmriti is the most important text of Sanatana Dharma after Vedas. Even more than Geeta.
@mitrajo It's not same as being celibate, and in Grihasta as well a person has to be Brahmachari.
निन्द्यास्वष्टासु चान्यासु स्त्रियो रात्रिषु वर्जयन् ।
ब्रह्मचार्येव भवति यत्र तत्राश्रमे वसन्
Manusmriti 3.50
Brahmacharya literally means
"Acting in a way to attain Brahman"
Basically when we follow the teachings of Vedas in our daily lives, we follow Brahmacharya. In Vedas it refers to following the system of Brahman.
In Yoga, it refers to mental self control over our sexual desires.
Basically, it tells us to live in a way our body really need, in order to attain Moksha.
Eg- Food for nutrition = Healthy life
Food for enjoyment = Unhealthy life
Same applies to every aspect of our lives.
In Hinduism God / Ishwar is genderless, hence can be addressed in all 3 genders.
In religions where God is male, it simply means those religions were created by men.
Ibn Battuta mentioned that Muslim invaders quickly realized that Hinduism is the truth.
He mentioned many Muslims were going to Yogis to learn Meditation from them. He mentioned yogis remaining alive without food or water for weeks.
@Hayavadana3 पुरुष does not mean "Male" literally. All souls are Purushas as well including souls of females. Purusha mean one that sleeps in Puri (Body / Universe)
