Bologna, Italy 🇮🇹 , is nicknamed

“The Learned, The Fat, The Red” 🔴

The Learned – because it’s home to one of the oldest universities in the world, Alma Mater Studiorum, which dates all the way back to 1088

The Fat – because nothing less than Bolognese ragù and mortadella (Bologna) were born here!

The Red – partly because of the red rooftops, but mainly because it’s Italy’s strongest communist stronghold!
