So much fun practicing critical thinking & shaking of nerves before state testing. S's issued challenges to each other to see if they could complete the task. We also took the cutest group picture and we all laughed that we were actually smiling for the camera @PlayCraftLearn
I modified a world from the @PlayCraftLearn lesson library with the help of my agent friend! S's played a "follow the leader" type game to identify coordinates on the large coordinate plane that I added. Then created 2D images for classmates to analyze coordinates and replicate.
I’m still absolutely blown away from Friday’s Promising Practices conference. 548 total participants attended my sessions on “Teach in a Sandbox.” The engagement was amazing, the feedback was incredible, and the inspiration was tangible ✨
Session 1 ✅ 250 teachers from across the country were inspired by the potential of #gamebasedlearning to ignite the love of learning in their students. We collaboratively created a lesson library encompassing K-12 and student support specialists. I’m excited for my encore at 2.

Sharing my passion for game-based learning and using @PlayCraftLearn with S’s at @scedtech yesterday was so great! Next up, I’ll be presenting at Stride’s Promising Practices with a few smaller PDs in between to teach T’s about the endless potential of #MinecraftEDU 🤩
The @PlayCraftLearn worlds have launched at @StrideLearn!!! I am so excited to see other teachers and students explore the worlds our team worked so hard to create. Check out the available teacher training too! #gamebasedlearning
⛏️ Last week I showed some #MIEExperts how to make custom skins and import them into #MinecraftEdu.
💡 Students could make entire skin packs of characters, teammates, historical figures, etc!
✔️ Sharing the directions for anyone - it’s super easy: https://t.co/fa5FXEIkBG
My teacher 💚 is so happy! Virtually teaching math intervention S’s is tough, but #MinecraftEDU is the perfect way to engage students in hands-on performance tasks. I’m blown away by all of the amazing work I get to see from my S’s daily in @PlayCraftLearn#gamebasedlearning
@deb_k_alex@PlayCraftLearn As for coding, I am going to let the Minecraft experience be S led. I’m going to let them build the numbers using the examples throughout, but anticipate hearing “there must be a better/faster way.” That would be my segue into showing them the code.
My latest M:EE creation. S's will plan their problem solving approach through teamwork, communication, and collaboration as they demonstrate their strategies and skills. Microsoft MakeCode was used to code the agent to build the island & numbers. @PlayCraftLearn#MinecraftEdu
@deb_k_alex@PlayCraftLearn I’m a math interventionist and my students struggle with recall. I aim to facilitate memorable “hands on” experiences for students to apply and create using math concepts to foster deeper understanding thus leading to better recall. I think they will remember hatching turtles!
@deb_k_alex@PlayCraftLearn I saved a blank version after I made the island to use again! For this one, they are specifically doing the turtle head method using turtle eggs in the game. A classmate will check the answer and “hatch” the turtle (replace with spawn egg).
