Thank you to Mrs. Goff's first hour class for meeting expectations when hosting a guest teacher. It was an honor to be with such polite and engaged young adults.
I love the NCHS staff! We introduced the pineapple chart this week. Four teachers opened their doors to peers right away, and Mr. McGrew & Mr. Simmons found the perfect welcome mat!
SRT at NCHS is rocking today with Renaissance taking about leadership skills, JAG discussing their projects for an upcoming competition, and 80's Non-Electronic Club learning to play Kemps.
If you are missing Mrs. Goggin's class, you are missing out! How does she fits swords, SAT prep, burning questions, differentiation, and peer editing into one period?! I felt honored to be there.
Mrs. Schuyler's class discussed the difference between productive and destructive struggle in their bell work. Great input from her students! Thanks for inviting me.
Miss Koch's class had some laughs reviewing mitosis and meiosis with a whole class board game with added dares followed by Factile. Thanks for the invite to the fun. Awesome way to review!
Thank you to Sophine Williams and Daniel Buchanan for sharing their family's story with Mrs. Goggin's students today. Giving students the chance to connect with an experience beyond the textbook is why NCHS is an awesome place.

I'm so proud to be a part of NCMS. To hear an 8th grader say, "This is SO cool!" while extracting DNA from a strawberry in Mrs. McGowan's lab today . . . priceless! #abetterncms
#abetterncms R4: The best professional development I have ever experienced would be a tie between the Google Summit and IPLI. I learned so much through IPLI, and the Google Summit always has a cool tech vibe that is so exciting.
#abetterncms R2: Most teachers do try to mix in new ideas. However, the time investment in searching out, planning, and creating new lessons can often be overwhelming.
#abetterncms R1: Why is age the only factor we consider when placing a student at an educational level? Why isn't more attention given to the skills mastered (or needing practice) at the middle school or high school levels?
#abetterncms Vicki Madison. 8th Grade U.S. History. I am proud of the students and their parents who continue to give their best efforts despite the obstacles and trials they have had this year.
