This was a fun way to implement both SEL and review . Students need to use each letter of the alphabet relating to their assigned topic. Once a letter is used it can’t be used again. Each turn is ten seconds. If time runs out you’re out. Continue until one player is left!

Scholars learned about symbolism today and then participated in a Gallery walk/ Big Paper photo analysis where they had to analyze and determine the meaning of items and people from the play 12 Angry Men! So proud 😊

After realizing that I needed to rethink how I was teaching hooks I came up with this cool lesson where students debated the strength of hooks related to a theme, went back and enhanced their hooks and then participated in a gallery walk where they got to give feedback to peers.

Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to our Boo Gram Fundraiser! We are grateful to have fundraised about 900 dollars for Family Promise Lunch Break in Red Bank. Our members had so much fun creating and delivering the Boo Grams on Halloween!

In class we have been focusing on writing using the RACER strategy to develop analytical skills. Here scholars are doing a detailed paragraph scramble where they have to identify all parts of the response and place them in the most logical order. #spartanlegacy

Scholars had to determine the MOST important details in the chapter and textual evidence to support it. They then did a Jigsaw discussion where they had to debate whose findings/evidence were strongest. Discussions like this lead to more detail in their writing! #spartanlegacy

Culture is such an important aspect of our own identity and learning about others is just as important! Scholars are researching all about the Indian culture in preparation for Homeless Bird! Way to go! #spartanlegacy
