1️⃣ First Solo African Artist to Sell Out O2 Arena (2019).

While Wizkid sold out the O2 Arena in 2018, Davido became the first solo African artist to sell out the venue in January 2019 (Wizkid's was part of a festival). He was introduced on stage by Idris Elba and received a 4/5 star review from The Guardian, cementing his status as a global live performer.

2️⃣ Most Shazamed Song in New York (2018).

Davido's 2017 hit "Fall" became the most Shazamed song in New York City in late 2018 — a remarkable achievement for a Nigerian artist at a time when Afrobeats was still breaking into the US mainstream. The song later became the longest-charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history.

3️⃣ First African Artist to Receive BET Award on Main Stage.

At the 2018 BET Awards, Davido became the first African-based artist to receive his award on the main stage (not the pre-show). Hollywood stars Omari Hardwick and Tika Sumpter presented the award, and Davido used his speech to urge American artists to visit Africa and experience the culture.

4️⃣ Pioneered the "Challenge" Fundraising Model.

Davido revolutionized celebrity philanthropy in Nigeria with his 2021 birthday challenge. By jokingly asking friends who owed him hit songs to send ₦1 million each, he raised ₦200 million in 27 hours, added ₦50 million of his own money, and distributed it to orphanages across Nigeria. This created a template now used by other celebrities including Burna Girl.

5️⃣ Built a House for a Fan's Mother.

In 2017, Davido discovered a video of a young boy named Utibe singing his song "If." Learning that Utibe couldn't afford school and lived in a makeshift dwelling with his physically challenged single mother, Davido not only paid for Utibe's education through university level but also built a house for his mother.

6️⃣ Secret Airport Philanthropy.

In 2018, Davido quietly donated ₦15 million to staff at Murtala Muhammed International Airport to cover medical expenses for an ailing airport worker. The donation was initially undisclosed — the airport only organized a public gratitude event on April 18, 2018, after the story leaked.

7️⃣ First Nigerian Artist on FIFA World Cup Soundtrack.

In March 2022, Davido became the first Nigerian singer ever featured on a FIFA World Cup single, appearing on "Hayya Hayya (Better Together)" alongside Trinidad Cardona and AISHA for the Qatar 2022 Official Soundtrack . This was a historic moment for Afrobeats on the global stage, predating the genre's current worldwide dominance.
