One thing that will be a nice change from Kawhi's first time in Toronto is the lack of tension over whether he's gonna stay. Every little thing of "will he like this/will he hate that" can just be put to rest and we can be stressed by just the games without the added drama.

As the Kawhi trade becomes official, Kazuma Okamoto launches a three-run home run to give the Blue Jays a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the 7th.

The Toronto Raptors have officially announced the trade acquiring Kawhi Leonard from the LA Clippers in exchange for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, a 2027 first round pick swap, unprotected first rounders in 2031 and 2033, as well as second round picks in 2030 and 2033.

Ouch. Max Clark doubles home two runs and the Tigers now lead 3-2. As I type this Spencer Torkelson brings home another run and it's 4-2 for Detroit.

This has unraveled big time for the Blue Jays.

Jose Soriano's no-hit bid ends in the 7th inning. Had 5 strikeouts and just the one walk on 69 pitches over the first 6 innings.

And just like that it's a one-run game as Soriano gives up three straight hits. Runners at 1st and 2nd with nobody out. Mound visit from Pete Walker but Soriano will try to get out of this jam.

Was a near-necessity, cap-math wise, unless Raptors expanded the deal.

Most of the details within here still hold. Raptors hard-capped, likely to carry just 13 to start the season (or 14 with Bradley converted).

Chalk that up as a learning experience for Ben Shelton with the Slam final stage, the full extent of the mental and physical needed to win it all, and that there's still a ways to go in getting the better of this matchup.
