After fighting a rare cancer for 7 years, my mum died peacefully on Monday night, surrounded by her family. She was an incredible, passionate, fiercely caring woman, and none of the joy I've found in this life would have been possible without her endless encouragement and selflessness, even through her toughest battles. demons famously don't care about much of anything. if a demon found out that a group of people didn't understand eclipses they'd probably convince them to stare at it for a laugh. the science was pretty widely known following 1715 so I just haven't met anyone who saw it differently, not that I remember

The sun is 400 times larger than the moon but is also 400 times farther away from us than the moon. A true solar eclipse like this is unfathomably rare to find anywhere else in the universe. Isn't it a miracle that there are people on Earth to see it?
