#latefert WIC Conference 2024 – it’s a wrap! 🎊 Thank you for joining us on two days full of interesting presentations, talks, posters and get-togethers! Many thanks to the organizers, speakers and participants for the past days of great scientific exchange! See you next year!👋🏼
After all these exciting poster presentations we are delighted to announce the winner of this year’s #latefert Poster Award! 🎉🏆
@agnevitali
Congratulations to the winner(s) on this well-deserved recognition! 👏🏼
Rolf Granholm closes our last session at the #latefert WIC Conference 2024. He shows a microsimulation model in the Netherlands that explores the role of Medically Assisted Reproduction (MAR) on fertility levels, considering the complexity of the reproductive life course.
Karel Neels presents how the delay in first births impacts second and higher-order births, highlighting potential further fertility declines in Europe. #latefert
Beyond socioeconomic factors, regional proximity plays a key role in varying late fertility trends in Europe, @ingridsetz and colleagues find contagion diffusion processes have contributed to the spread of late births across the continent. #latefert
Enjoy the Coffee Break and make sure to grab some publications! ☕️ See you soon for Session 7 on ‘Delayed Childbearing and the future of fertility’ of the #latefert WIC Conference 2024! Stay tuned for insightful discussions! ✨
@ale_minello and colleagues close Session 6 with a talk on ‘The body well-being and fertility trade-off. How childbirth experience affects fertility trajectories.’ #latefert
@alice_goisis and her colleagues talk about ‘Having a live birth through Medically Assisted Reproduction: a socially stratified perspective.’ #latefert
Denise Musni and @SchnorC show that income and availability of parental support compensate for the lack of a co-parent among single mothers who conceived via MAR in Belgium. #latefert
@MartaSeiz gives insights in her research on the impact of late childbearing on perinatal health in Spain. She shows that higher education mitigates risks like preterm birth for women 35-44, but doesn't shield against stillbirth or extreme prematurity. #latefert
In her research, @MCCompans studied varying age-based regulations for assisted reproduction across 27 high-income countries. She shows that the impact of MAR on very late births is determined by contextual factors other than regulations. #latefert
Our last keynote at #latefert, @LucyvandeWiel talks about the increasing relevance of fertility preservation and egg freezing. She highlights changing norms, opportunities and new financial pressures in her fascinating presentation. ❄️
So many great presentations today at the #latefert WIC Conference 2024! Now enjoy your lunch break and see you soon for our last keynote by @LucyvandeWiel on ‘Delayed Reproduction: Frozen eggs and (il)liquid capital’. 🥗🧃
@SchnorC and @rees_alice show that in Belgium, lifetime childlessness is linked to different partnership trajectories, which are also associated to socioeconomic factors. #latefert
Valdes (@mvaldes1989) and colleagues talk about the educational gradient on the timing of the transition to the first child and its variations across provinces in Spain. Interestingly, differences are driven by variations among the non-university-educated. #latefert
@melindacmills and colleagues analyze the relationship between early-life diseases and lifetime childlessness in Finland & Sweden. They find strong associations with behavioral disorders, congenital anomalies and endocrine–nutritional–metabolic disorders. #latefert
@PassetWittig and Nadja Milewski examine the quantity and complexity of reproductive barriers and its interrelation with live births. They find that women in the oldest age group have the highest average quantity and complexity of adverse reproductive events. #latefert
Join us in your coffee break, grab a coffee and meet some of the editors of the @ViennaYearbook: Miguel Sanchez Romero, @PaoDiG, Maria Winkler-Dworak (@mwinkdwo) and Tomáš Sobotka! Find more info on the Vienna Yearbook here: https://t.co/vXf1UQ15K1. #latefert#ViennaYearbook ☕️👋🏼
