Clamping your workpiece isn’t just about precision—it’s about safety. Trying to hold material with one hand while cutting or drilling with the other is one of the easiest ways to lose control of a tool.
Clamps are simple, but they make every project safer and easier.

Memorial Day weekend is a great time for a yard reset project.
Blast away winter grime with a power washer, then give old buckets, cans, or containers a second life as painted planters. We’ve got pressure washers, paint tools and plenty of project inspiration waiting at WSTL.
Thanks to an air pollution prevention grant from the Washington Department of Ecology, we have 6 new chainsaws available to lend. These electric chainsaws prevent up to 750 grams of Ozone from forming compared to a 2-stroke chainsaw.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Thank you to all the moms, grandmas, and caregivers passing down DIY skills—sharing your knowledge, your patience and your love of making. Those moments stick, and they shape a lifetime of confidence and curiosity. We’re honored to support the tools behind it.
Our Annual Tool Sale was a huge success!
Huge thanks to our volunteers, board members, donors, and everyone who came out to shop and support.
We had an amazing turnout and raised critical funds to keep tools accessible in our community—couldn’t do it without you.
Monthly safety tip:
Always check for hidden wires or pipes before drilling into walls. A stud finder can help, but not all of them detect electrical lines unless they’re specifically designed to. When in doubt, double check before you drill. Still in doubt, ask WSTL for help.
Spring in West Seattle is a great time for grass seeding—mild temps and longer days help fill patchy spots or refresh your lawn before summer.
Borrow spreaders, rakes, and more from the tool library to make it easy. A simple project for a greener, more usable yard.
It’s happening!
Take a look at all the fun stuff waiting to be discovered. See something that catches your eye? Come on by early and snag it before it’s gone. Whether you’re hunting for a specific tool or just love a good treasure hunt, it’s going to be a great day to stop by.
Happy Earth Day!

Easter is all about finding hidden treasures.
One of my favorite “hidden gems” in the shop is the oscillating multi-tool. It’s small but incredibly versatile—able to cut, sand, scrape, and get into tight spots.
What’s your hidden tool treasure? Share it with us.
