Governor Morrisey announced more than $1.1 million in West Virginia Rural Health Transformation Program (WV RHTP) awards to Community Care of West Virginia (CCWV) to expand access to healthcare in rural communities and build a stronger healthcare workforce across the state.
“Better healthcare outcomes and a stronger workforce go hand in hand,” Governor Morrisey said. “These investments will bring care closer to people who need it while creating new pathways for West Virginians to build careers in healthcare. By improving access to care and strengthening our healthcare workforce, we can help more West Virginians get healthy, return to work, and contribute to stronger communities across our state.”

I fought the Biden administration’s rewrite of Title IX as Attorney General because it threatened the rights, privacy, and opportunities of women and girls. We took them to court to stop their rule from taking effect in West Virginia, and we won.
Today, President @realDonaldTrump and Secretary McMahon are finishing the job by wiping the Biden rule from the books and restoring Title IX to what Congress intended. This is a major victory for women and girls, for parents, and for common sense.
Title IX changed America by opening doors for generations of women and girls. We should be protecting that legacy, not rewriting the law to satisfy a radical political agenda. Women deserve fair competition. Girls deserve privacy and safety. And parents deserve to know that the law will protect their daughters.
I’m proud that West Virginia helped lead this fight, and I’m grateful to President Trump and Secretary McMahon for standing firm. We fought this battle for years, and today common sense prevailed.
Today, the Trump Administration is formally putting into regulation what the law has said all along: Title IX’s protections are based on SEX, not “gender identity.”
The Gazette got it wrong. This Friday’s story intentionally misrepresented my administration’s energy plans without giving me a chance to address their claims and slanted coverage.
Here's the truth: We are pursuing nuclear generation and manufacturing to bring high-paying jobs to West Virginia. Our recent application to the U.S. Department of Energy was part of that effort. We want to build on our existing strengths in coal and natural gas to create more jobs and opportunity, stronger communities, and a higher standard of living.
But West Virginia will not be a dumping ground for nuclear waste. Period.
I have directed my Office of Energy to ensure that every site identified in our final Nuclear Campus application is considered only for nuclear generation or manufacturing - not as a dump.
I will keep fighting for investments that can bring thousands of high-paying jobs to our state. I will also protect West Virginia’s beauty and heritage. We can pursue new opportunities without becoming a dumping ground.
More energy jobs and manufacturing jobs are on the table. Nuclear waste dumps are not. We've had enough fake news.
Dolly Parton has inspired generations of young readers, and West Virginia is going to help celebrate her legacy.
Starting October 1, K-5 students can join our Dolly Days Read-a-Thon and read 25 books by the end of the year.
A fitting way to honor Dolly and inspire our next generation of readers.

We are making state resources available to support communities and first responders wherever they are needed."

Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced a $500,000 award to CHANGE Inc. through West Virginia’s Rural Health Transformation Program to support health care delivery and chronic disease management in Brooke and Hancock counties.
“We want our doctors and healthcare professionals focused on patients, not paperwork,” Morrisey said. “This investment will give providers better tools to manage chronic conditions, stay connected with patients, and spend more time delivering care. When we improve healthcare outcomes, we help more West Virginians get healthy, stay healthy, and get back to work.”
