“Walking into the space, you are immediately struck by the sheer joy and resilience of these children – their laughter fills the room, proving that even amidst conflict, a protected childhood is possible,” shares @EleanorMonbiot, World Vision’s Middle East and Eastern Europe Regional Leader.

World Vision, partnering with Spivdiia Charity Foundation and funded by @AktionHilftdeus (ADH), continues to pioneer Child-Friendly Spaces (CFS) across Ukraine.

“By launching Child-Friendly Spaces together with World Vision, we gave them a sanctuary to process distress and just be children again," shares Nadiia Savynska, CEO of "SpivDiia." "It’s a successful partnership that helped us provide critical psychological support to children right when they needed it most.”

Last week, World Vision’s Middle East and Eastern Europe Regional Leader, Eleanor Monbiot, visited one of these vital spaces to see firsthand how children are navigating life amidst conflict.

“For international organisations like World Vision, fostering deep-rooted partnerships with local actors is essential to delivering sustainable, long-term recovery. We remain steadfast in our commitment to walking alongside Ukraine’s communities, ensuring every vulnerable child receives both immediate relief and the enduring support they need for the future,” shares Eleanor Monbiot.

Since 2022, World Vision and its partners have established more than 230 Child-Friendly Spaces across Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Georgia, reaching over 340,000 people through essential protection programming.
