CCTV images released after woman sexually assaulted on train to London Bridge

Detectives investigating a sexual assault on board a Southeastern train from Charing Cross to London Bridge are today releasing these images in connection.

At around 10pm on Wednesday 23 September a man boarded the train at Charing Cross and sat next to a lone woman despite other seats being available before sexually assaulting her.

Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information which could help the investigation.

Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 856 of 23 September.

Information can also be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

🚨A woman who sexually abused a young boy on three separate occasions has been given a suspended prison sentence after the survivor described a childhood devastated by depression and distress.

Kirsty Beckingham, 37, from Sheffield, admitted four counts of sexual activity with a child. She was in her mid-20s when the abuse happened. The boy was aged under 14.

At Sheffield Crown Court, the boy's statement laid bare the lasting damage caused by an adult he had trusted.

“Kirsty Beckingham took my innocence and ruined my childhood,” he said.

He described crying himself to sleep after realising what had happened was wrong. Depression prevented him from finishing school, and he turned to drugs to try to escape the memories.

He said he had felt trapped and unable to tell anyone. Reporting the abuse eventually lifted a burden, although nothing could restore the childhood he had lost.

“I don't call myself a victim; I am a survivor,” he told the court.

Beckingham's sentencing hearing in August was halted after shouting interrupted proceedings. People in the public gallery, understood to be family members, were subsequently heard shouting and fighting outside the courtroom, prompting police attendance.

Sentencing resumed before a calm court, where Beckingham maintained that the sexual activity had been consensual and denied grooming the boy.
The judge described her conduct as sexual abuse on three occasions and said it had been damaging to him, while finding that the case did not involve grooming in the usual sense.

Beckingham received a three-year prison sentence, suspended, and was ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid work.

A five-year restraining order prohibits Kirsty Beckingham from contacting the survivor. She must also register as a sex offender.

Despite admitting offences involving a child, Beckingham avoided immediate custody.

The survivor described the consequences as following him throughout his childhood, leaving lasting emotional scars long after the abuse ended.

➡️ After two postponements - Bulgarian national Ilia Belov, 22, is due to be sentenced today for assaulting a 12YO girl and threatening four girls aged 12–14 in Dundee.

Despite online commentators blaming the 12YO girl over viral footage showing her with an axe, the court "wholly" rejected Belov’s account and convicted him.

His sister, Nadjedzha Belova, who admitted assaulting a 13YO girl, is also due to be sentenced today at Dundee Sheriff Court.

⚠️ Sentencing was postponed in August over missing social work reports, then again in September after Belov’s assigned social worker fell ill.
