@GTA_Medic@OFLabour@OPSEU No govt should interfere w/ the bargaining rights of workers.
I fought back when Ford did it with Bill 28 (won in the streets)
Fought against Ford w/ Bill 124 (won in court)
Fought against Liberals w/ Bill 115 (won in court)
But sure talk about 30+yrs ago - wrong then & now
Oh Doug,
There wouldn’t be a strike if you hadn’t imposed unconstitutional legislation that stole wages from workers. Quit the spin & make these workers whole!
Strikes work more than you do!
@OFLabour@OPSEU
Premier Doug Ford faced striking social service workers in Thunder Bay today.
OPSEU is calling for more funding for the sector.
Ford says funding has increased 'dramatically' and that strikes only hurt instead of help.

Watch: Premier Doug Ford calls a new Angus Reid poll showing his approval rating at an eight-year low “fake.”
He claims it over-sampled Liberal & NDP voters and says internal polling suggests his government would still win a “massive majority” if an election were held today.
We should have been going to the polls a week ago.
Now you know why Ford changed the laws on fixed date elections. When a law doesn’t work for him he changes it.
This is who he is, who he has been - no “aw shucks, I made a mistake” is going to fix our province
@OFLabour
NEW: Ontario Premier Doug Ford’s approval rating falls to its lowest level since he first took office in 2018.
The latest Angus Reid data shows a 10 point drop down to 21% approval.
Ford also finds himself at the bottom of the list among fellow Premiers.

Today, we joined OPSEU/SEFPO locals 358, 361 and 511 - dedicated development service workers in our communities! Over 4000 workers who provide care and supports to the our vulnerable community members are either locked out or on strike throughout Ontario!
The services they provide are at risk due to persistent underfunding and insufficient staffing, and these workers have had their wages stolen as a result of lack of remedy for Ford’s unconstitutional Bill 124 - they are Worth Fighting For!
#NoShowSmith
Happy to participate in this event with @CUPE1734 yesterday - just one of many throughout the province.
Talking to people at the doors made it clear - the public is not happy w/ @fordnation - everyone knows he is hiding for 21 weeks!

Doug Ford is giving off big Veruca Salt energy over this plane issue
#ButDaddyIWantItNow
It’s mind boggling that given all the issues facing our province this is his fixation
PS Veruca did not win the game
@OFLabour
Premier Doug Ford says other North American leaders “think it’s a joke” that Ontario doesn’t have a dedicated government jet.
He made the comment Thursday while defending his use of chartered flights from Toronto to Ottawa, arguing that flying commercially can consume an entire workday.
“We’ve got to stop treating Ontario like a banana republic, because that’s what it’s being treated like,” he said. Full story icymi: https://t.co/AJI2vzyr0H

Join ONDP as we explore workplace efforts to ensure the safety of survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and gender based violence (GBV). What can be done to support survivors when they disclose, and what challenges do workers face when seeking help on the job?
Our conversation will cover what employers can and should do to support workers and how legislation can help make workplaces safer.
There will be a Q&A opportunity after the panel discussion.

Yesterday, we joined several advocates, allies and community partners at Queens Park in recognition of the second anniversary of the province's acknowledgment of Injured Workers Day.
Workers are advocating for full access to compensation and calling attention to the ongoing claims suppression. Meanwhile, the current government and WSIB continues to reward employers by allocating billions of dollars to employers in refunds instead of providing support to the workers in need.
Good to see that @PaulCalandra continues to spout his revisionist history.
Relative peace my a$$, let’s talk about Bill 124 which was ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL & Bill 28 which was repealed in record time when @osbcucscso ed workers went on illegal strike.
@OFLabour
Calandra says a "hallmark of the government since 2018" has been "relative peace with teachers unions and unions representing education workers."
Calandra says there has not been a "lot of disruption in the classroom with the exception of Covid"
In fact - All four education unions went on strike in 2019 -- and the Ford government imposed the notwithstanding clause on CUPE education support workers in 2022 under threat of another strike.

“Workers in fragmented, feminized and historically underpaid sectors are increasingly recognizing their collective power.” - @AdamDKKing1 on the Ontario social service worker strike.
NEW: Ontario’s social service workers have had enough of Doug Ford https://t.co/WcNHShf6Dl
