Two technologies are being developed by VITO:
- ANDICOS membranes to filtrate wastewater and #reuse for #irrigation, and reuse of the organic concentrate to produce #biogas via anaerobic digestion
- structured #adsorbents to remove #heavymetals incoming from the local tanneries.

Did you know that 75% of surface water bodies💧in India are contaminated by the discharge of untreated wastewater☠? @VITObelgium coordinates @Pavitra_Ganga Project on #wastewater treatment, water reuse and #resourcerecovery opportunities for urban and peri-urban areas in #India.

The project tests various innovative #technologies for wastewater treatment in specific pilot sites in New Delhi and Kanpur. Our team travelled to India this month to join a #workshop to foster #knowledge exchange and a site visit.
