The human heart is endowed with an enormous coefficient of expansion. When it loves, it opens out in a crescendo of affection that overcomes all barriers. If you love our Lord, there will not be a single creature that does not find a place in your heart. #Theway
When a terrible crime has been committed and Christianity speaks of forgiveness and loving one's enemies, many people adopt an extreme position: "If we forgive, then we have to let it go and leave it be." What is that? They will do bad things and we just forgive them?
Yes, we will forgive them. Even the most terrible criminals must be forgiven, because forgiveness does not mean the absence of punishment. A criminal should be put in jail, maybe even in an isolated cell under tight security but we have no moral right to wish for their death. Otherwise, it implies that after a person commits a crime, our hands are untied to commit lawlessness as well.
After a death penalty is carried out, the "cause of death" field is filled out as homicide. How are we any different from the criminal then? What right do we have to judge them? Just because they did it first?
Jesus Christ was crucified, nailed to a cross. Yet, He prayed, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." Of course, this is extremely difficult, especially for the victims' relatives. Without God's help, a person cannot conquer hate alone. We must love the sinner but hate the sin, and never despise others for their faults, lest we be tempted in the exact same way.
The Striking Devil
The instruments of the devil are forged for the punishment of sinners. The devil dealt Job only a single blow. Yet, that one strike was so devastating it covered his whole body in sores and ulcers. It left him so disfigured that his own friends didn't recognize him. For seven days and nights, they sat in silence, weeping and stunned by the sheer terror of what the devil’s hand could do.
Imagine, then, if you were to face that same devil at your side, striking you every minute without end. The first blow would leave you as broken as Job. The second would double your agony. By the third and fourth, the pain would be beyond comprehension. How could any human form endure such a toll after a hundred million years of relentless strikes? Unlike Job, who had friends to comfort him in his misery, there is no comfort in hell. No family or friend will be there to weep with you.
Now is therefore the time for repentance; now is the appointed time to draw closer to God and amend our ways in accordance with His Divine Will.
There is a hedge of protection that will surround you when you give your heart, mind, and soul to Jesus Christ. (OLD TESTAMENT) Job 1:10 Have You not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on every side?
Paul Scholes emotionally opening up on the challenges of having a child with "severe special needs" after refusing to answer a question on the podcast 'The Overlap'.
The Manchester United legend has a son named Aiden who is 20 years old. Aiden was diagnosed with autism as a child and is non-verbal.
"Just filmed an Overlap and we were asked the question. What has had the biggest impact on our lives, to which I couldn't answer even though I knew..."
"Without question having a boy with severe special needs, wishing he was normal every single day and then realising how lucky I am when I see another family that are worse off than we are.
A side to Scholesy that not many people know about, what a legend he is 👌
