How did NYC fuck up the Knicks parade so badly?
Knicks win the championship for the first time in 53 years and they get a micro parade on a Thursday morning in tiny streets near city hall
Meanwhile every random tiny country gets a whole parade down 5th Ave on weekends
Millions of people unable to come to the parade to celebrate their team today
Absolute clown show
Really hope the next major championship in the city they make changes to parade/celebration. Too many people got turned away. The die-hards who are there in good and bad times get screwed in end. Extend the route. This should be for everyone who wants to be part of it. #knicks
What a moment. Won’t ever forget this day.
That being said, I am a stan for traditions and rituals, BUT…it’s time to retire the canyon of heroes or extend the parade to a wider area.
Ok one more
I get the Canyon of Heroes and all that fun, but did this once in a lifetime parade have to be tucked away into a one mile stretch all the way downtown? We got nowhere near the action and left at 6:15 am. 5th avenue was right there. No one would have minded. But alas, a great day peace and love
The city failed New Yorkers at this parade. Ticket-tape parades happening in Canyon of Heroes is a 100+ year old concept. Population has obviously risen. The new route should have been all the way up to Central Park and down to Times Square.
