Dear friends and allies,
As feminists, we can no longer remain active on X (formerly Twitter) due to the platform's alignment with far-right agendas that undermine democracy, human rights, and free speech.
It has become a space for hate speech, disinformation, and the suppression of marginalized voices, directly contradicting our values and undermining the fight for gender and environmental justice.
While we will keep our X account open, we will no longer engage on this platform.
"Feminist movements are a powerful antidote to militarism and authoritarianism. They are inclusive, nonhierarchical, optimistic, [and] committed to justice, [which] ... has led many to deploy reactionary gender politics to consolidate power." https://t.co/LZMyDB1jPR #WomenLead
After a jam-packed year, WEDO will be closed from 23 Dec– 3 Jan to allow the team to unplug and recharge.
We’re grateful to have worked alongside you this year to envision and build the future we want and look forward to continuing this work together in 2025.

And this is why the UN space is so important - not perfect, but at least one-country, one-vote, adds Rodolfo @IbonInternatl - and the right place to reform the international financial architecture. Interrogating assumptions, with a political economy analysis, is hugely important
Starting now, this super important event on whether a decolonial feminist approach is possible within our current global economic governance (Spoiler: probably not) #AMCSO24
