俳優・水嶋ヒロにまつわる“娘と仮面ライダー”のエピソードは、ファンの間でも非常に有名である。

きっかけは、水嶋ヒロ本人がブログで明かした家族との日常であった。

ある日、娘が突然、

「パパって仮面ライダーなの？」

と真顔で聞いてきたという。

実は娘は、周囲の友達から何度も

「○○ちゃんのパパって仮面ライダーなんでしょ？」

と言われていたらしく、ずっと半信半疑だったそうである。

そこで水嶋ヒロは、

「そうだよ。昔ね」

と優しく答えた。

すると娘はかなり驚き、“パパ＝仮面ライダー”という認識が一気に強くなったという。

さらに微笑ましいのはその後の出来事である。

娘は『仮面ライダーカブト』のフィギュアを毎日持ち歩くようになった。

水嶋ヒロが、

「なんで毎日持っていくの？」

と理由を聞くと、娘は、

「パパが守ってくれてるみたいで安心するから」

と答えたそうである。
この言葉に、水嶋ヒロ本人も深く感動したらしく、

「愛しすぎ」

とブログにつづっていた。

このエピソードはファンの間でも大きな反響を呼び、

「天道総司が本当に娘を守っているみたい」
「これは泣ける」
「理想の父親すぎる」

など、多くの声が上がった。

『仮面ライダーカブト』は2006年の作品であるが、放送終了から長い年月が経った今でも、“子どもに誇れるヒーロー”として愛され続けていることが分かるエピソードである。
