As part of the #KnowYourTA campaign, troops of 133 Eco TA (Paryavarani) Battalion, under #WesternCommand, joined hands with the ‘Surya Green – Himalayan Odyssey’ team, TATA EV, and enthusiastic students from GSSS Kufri and #IHMKufri to conduct a large-scale plantation and environmental awareness drive in Shimla.
The Himalayan Odyssey, flagged off from Kasauli, is aimed at promoting environmental stewardship, sustainable mobility, and stronger community engagement. Through active participation in plantation activities and awareness initiatives, the event reinforced the collective commitment towards preserving the fragile Himalayan ecosystem.
The initiative highlighted the vital role of the Territorial Army in environmental conservation while inspiring the younger generation to become responsible custodians of nature. Together, soldiers and students pledged to contribute towards a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.

A Tri-Services Principal Maintenance Officers’ Committee (PMOC) delegation comprising officers from HQ IDS, Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force visited Chandimandir Military Station and interacted with Lt Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, Chief of Staff, HQ Western Command, along with senior officers.
The visit strengthened inter-service synergy through the exchange of best practices and deliberations on maintenance, logistics and sustainment, further enhancing joint operational effectiveness across the three Services.

During the event conducted from 31 May to 8 June, campers honed their skills of jungle survival, practiced air pistol shooting and learnt from their peers from elite institutes in Dehradun. These activities boosted their self-reliance, instilled team spirit and invigorated their scientific temper.

Demonstrating rapid force projection and operational agility, 1 Para (SF) Battalion of Western Command successfully executed the heliborne induction of troops along with the underslung carriage of a Light Specialist Vehicle (LSV) into operational areas. The exercise showcased the Indian Army’s capability to swiftly insert highly trained combat elements and critical assets across challenging terrain, enhancing operational mobility, flexibility and mission readiness in diverse operational scenarios.

On a requisition from the civil administration, a Diving Team of 1 PARA (SF) was deployed to Renuka Ji Lake, District Sirmaur, Himachal Pradesh on 05 Jun 2026 to assist in locating a 20-year-old resident of Dadahu who had reportedly drowned a day earlier.
Despite challenging underwater conditions, the team conducted an extensive search and successfully recovered the body, enabling its handover to the family through local police authorities.
The operation reflects the Indian Army's steadfast commitment to humanitarian assistance and support to civil authorities during emergencies.

Representatives from the Directorate of Indian Army Veterans, HQ Western Air Command, and Rajya/Zila Sainik Boards of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, UT Chandigarh and Jammu participated in the collegiate.
The forum deliberated on key issues concerning the welfare of Veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents, with a focus on grievance redressal, welfare initiatives and strengthening support mechanisms at the grassroots level.
The delegates subsequently interacted with Lt Gen Pushpendra Singh, AVSM, SM**, Army Commander, Western Command, who commended the collective efforts of all stakeholders and reaffirmed the commitment to ensuring the welfare, dignity and well-being of the veteran community.

Lt Gen #RajeshPushkar, AVSM, VSM, GOC #KhargaCorps, inaugurated a Cardiac Screening Centre at MH Ambala, for providing state of art facilities like ECHO, TMT, digital Doppler, automatic BP monitoring, 24 hrs holter, Cardiac marker Analyzer, BMI analyzer & Spirometry. The GOC also inspected recently renovated Accident and Emergency Department along with Zonal President AWWA. Both the facilities have given a major fillip to healthcare infrastructure for Ambala Station.
