We will take a closer look of course to see what this will mean for the many bicycle riders who travel this route 🙏

📢 Public Consultation Open – N25 Junction Improvement Scheme (Ref. LAC2609)
Wexford County Council has opened a public consultation on proposed traffic calming and safety improvements on the N25 at its junctions with the R738 and L3022, approximately 3.5km west of Wexford Town.
🚶 New footpaths
🚴 New cycling infrastructure
💡 New public lighting
🛣️ Junction realignment and road resurfacing
🌧️ New drainage works
🚸 Upgraded pedestrian underpass access
📅 Plans available to view: 22 July – 19 August 2026
📝 Submission deadline: Wednesday, 2 September 2026. Submission may be made in writing to Planning Department, Wexford County Council.

Families affected by devastating loss deserve to be heard, as do gardaí, emergency clinicians and road safety campaigners.

We didn’t respond to drink-driving by banning cars.
We tackled the behaviour.
We changed the law.
We enforced it.
We educated people.
If the problem is criminals, then deal with criminals.
If the problem is illegal vehicles, then get illegal vehicles off the streets.

An outright ban of e-scooters might just be throwing the baby out with the bath water.

It most probably would see challenges to our #Wexford @boltapp bike share scheme that appears to need the inclusion of e-scooters to make it profitable..

Outright ban would be such a knee-jerk reaction.
Many people riding these around responsibly and they should not be punished because some use modified versions/underage/criminality etc.
@Dept_Transport & @RSAIreland far too slow out of the traps and have let this get out of hand.

Cycling infrastructure works so much better when drivers understand their role in road safety.
