Since some of you are having trouble, I'll explain. There are many grocery stores around where I live right now with wildly different price ranges. None are putting the other out of business.
So you're saying if there's a place where food is cheaper, all places where it's more expensive will disappear? Think about why that's wrong for a second.
Zohran Mamdani has been mayor for 231 days and this, if manifested, and without hyperbole, will be the most radical act of his tenure by a long shot.
Please allow me to break this down:
He is about to spend 70 million tax dollars on 5 government run grocery stores (notwithstanding Aldi' making clear they could open 5 stores for a fraction of that).
Those five stores, run as they will be on tax dollars every single month no matter how full or empty their aisles will be, will be able to operate at a loss in perpetuity, and offer groceries for 30% less than their competitors.
But because no private grocer could possibly compete with a government competitor undercutting them by 30%, they will all inevitably all go bankrupt.
Mamdani's solution to prevent their bankruptcy? Give those private grocers tax dollars for them to compete and thereby make up for the 30% shortfall that...HE CREATED.
Succinctly: the government spends tax dollars to create an insanely bad problem. Then, to solve the problem that THEY CREATED, the government spends more tax dollars.
Utterly insane.
Hey! On October 1st, I'm gonna be on a stage in Madison with @sportswithjohn talking about his new book! (Presumably. I guess we can talk about whatever we want.)
This is the very spot Corey Ruiz was shot by police in Madison. A very specific incident with a very specific backlash that has nothing to do with your babble. I went there a few days ago. It was amazing to see so many coming together to protest. And you can fuck right off.
Your take on Culver's curds is pretty good. I wouldn't call them trash, but they're not the best you can get. Culver's fries, however, are the best fast-food fries out there. The first thing I've disagreed with you on.
I see that folks are digging up old tweets in an attempt to shift the narrative in this race. I stand by this statement, unequivocally. Their fries also leave much to be desired. The reuben, however, slaps.
Hey, my pal and The Good Stuff alum (remember that show we used to do) Ryan Wolff did a video essay about everyone’s favorite thing, Tech Billionaires! https://t.co/WMmCJKkUvD
NEWS: A Republican PAC is dropping $2 million to boost Francesca Hong in the Democratic primary for governor in Wisconsin.
GOP appears to view Hong, a democratic socialist, as its easiest opponent in a general election and wants to guarantee that outcome.

Dear Twitter,
Today I walked the dog, had coffee and a breakfast burrito, tidied my office, and did other busy work to avoid actual work. How are you?
Sincerely,
