@Nestarichierich@TheMJCast Not entirely far-fetched to believe that one may have been lured under false pretenses. We also don't know how they sliced and diced the damn thing. I guess we will hear all about it!
@Nestarichierich@TheMJCast The trial coverage was so utterly skewed that the general public know nothing about what a joke it was. Not unlikely that JRT took them at their word when they said it was a "forensic" look at it. Given the vulturous nature of such platforms and the positive post-biopic hype?
@Nestarichierich@TheMJCast to have someone positive/neutral than nobody at all. T Mez didn't take part, I definitely don't think they wanted someone like Aphrodite to take part. I'm guessing the angle was that he was as close to positive as they were willing to go.
@Nestarichierich@TheMJCast Honestly.. any MJ-adjacent person not being outright anti-MJ is something I'm grateful for these days. I don't know what edition I have, but I bought it in early 2000s. It wasn't pro-guilt, but contained a lot of innuendo and talking points we see from guilters now.
@Nestarichierich@TheMJCast Yes, that is the same impression I have. Not a guilter at all, but the 1993 portion of the book that I have does have a lot of weird innuendo like I said. Especially with regards to the infamous description. As far as the hit piece, I think it might be argued that it was better
@TayCris36535643 I remember walking out of there as a 15 year old hella depressed, just knowing they would rip him to shreds the next day in the press. And they did. He and Beyonce were the only ones the audience weren't booing at. Rihanna got it the worst.
@WheretheT@TheMJCast I donโt remember that biography supporting his guilt. The 1st edition came out before 93. His appearance was sort of neutral indeed, which is a problem if heโs supposed to be friends with MJ. The other side was very aggressive, and the pro-MJ people had no teeth.
@RichardHanania A very low-effort and palatable way for you to actually learn something from a reputable source. Award-winning investigative journalist Charles Thomson. Re-heated tabloid musings are not it.

@Nestarichierich@TheMJCast I enjoyed the book too. Actually, from what I understand his appearance on that hit piece was pretty neutral and that's already better than I expect from anyone. My issue is that I spent years of my teenage life believing the 1993 allegations because of that biography.
@Slate You were worried that it would use primary sources and expose reality that the wider public has been deliberately deprived of, but are now comforted to see that the same false narrative continues to be pushed? Cool story bro.
@TheMJCast Apologies. No offense was intended. Re-read the biography recently and I'm speaking through the bitterness caused by all the innuendo. Then saw your brilliant breakdown here - hence my comment. Thank you for everything that you do. Your intellect and integrity are invaluable.
@whos_bad777@TheMJCast@hali1189@CEThomson What's crazy is that the truth is FAR more interesting and would be a much more entertaining and lucrative undertaking for a platform like Netflix. Why they choose to rehash these false narratives is beyond comprehension.
