At the 2026 @whitneymuseum Biennial, galleries hum with the sounds of insects, rooms smell of lemon grass, and the digital worlds blur the line between memory and art. Senior Curator Marcela Guerrero gives @LatinoUSA a guided tour of it all.

It's not every day that art gets inflated in the galleries. 🌬️
Pat Oleszko first began creating her "inflatables" in the early 1980s as a way to make large-scale sculptures without relying on the need for constructed, heavy armatures. This work titled Blowhard debuted as a 1995 commission for the World Trade Center Plaza, where strong winds nearly blew it away. The artist sews these sculptures in sections, which she then connects, unfurls, and inflates on her roof.
Blowhard is on view in #WhitneyBiennial 2026 through August 23.
Spring has sprung and a new season of Free Friday Nights is here 🌷
Join us every week on Fridays from 5 to 10 pm for free admission, music, dancing, cocktails, sunset views, and access to the #WhitneyBiennial.
Nanibah Chacon’s sculptures in #WhitneyBiennial 2026 draw out the visual similarities between the sand paintings of Diné (Navajo) gods and electrical towers used by coal refineries on the Navajo Nation. After the Biennial closes, one of the sculptures will be installed on the land of the Navajo Nation.
🎬 Aaaand, action! Our Museum staff, artists, and curators have been working tirelessly to bring the #WhitneyBiennial 2026 to life. Tomorrow, March 4, the exhibition opens to Members, and Sunday, March 8, it opens to the public during Free Second Sundays.
