The Ar-Kansas river is HIGH and flowing fast. I will say, it does look much better high than low

According to Frank Waugh (CBM Kake), the rain has added 1 BILLION gallons to Cheney Lake so far, bringing the water level up 5.5” !

Per my calculations, if we’re ~8’ below normal still - only 17.5 more weekends like this and we will be full! (Don’t fact check me)

Our friends at Tanganyika recently made a couple of announcements that their family has grown:

First is a new Clouded Leopard Cub named Lemonade! He was born in March 18th to Larry and Adelaide (hence his name 🍋)

Next up is the newest bongo to the herd! She was born on March 22 to mom Strudel!

Did you know there are fewer than 150 Eastern Mountain Bongos left in the wild? That makes this birth an important step in helping protect the future of this critically endangered species.

Wichita Park & Recreation just announced that several of our splash pads will open ahead of schedule starting… TODAY! Saturday, May 17!

Get ready to cool off at the following locations:
