The industrial workforce supply/demand mismatch is at historic levels.

This human capital squeeze has been a long time coming. The double problem in the US is lagging productivity… dragged by sectors like construction where labor productivity has actually declined over last 50 years.

Advanced tech innovation, automation, adoption, etc are table stakes to improve productivity. We’ve been focused on investing in solves at @ironspringVC and will continue to do so as an early stage sector focused VC. We believe brilliant, resilient founders best catalyze change.

BUT… digitalization alone can not bridge the skilled labor shortage gap. Amongst other things, we have fundamental education & blue collar stigma/branding issues to address.

This is a Shrek issue… it has layers 🧅

And is worthy off all hands on deck support. Happy to see fresh eyeballs and more awareness on this problem, particularly in construction. We’re always up to support/engage with passionate folks building, investing, innovating our industrial supply chain complex. Let’s connect
