Grade 4 Manhattan Lower School students in Ms. Nordgren's Language Arts class recently participated in a phonemic awareness activity. Students used letter boards to practice initial consonant blends, for example, pl- as in plant or bl- as in black.

Each year, grade 4 students create clay relief maps as the culminating project for their New York State geography unit in their social studies classes. Colorful clay is used to represent the different landforms and waterbodies in New York State!

In recognition of Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15), MLS Assistant Campus Head Ms. Sands presented to Grade 3 students. In this presentation, Ms. Sands shared her connection to Hispanic Heritage Month and read aloud "Abuela" by Arthur Dorros.
