Especially when they’re doing such a piss poor job of cohesive and coherent competent governance and legislation of existing laws and legislations.

Woody Guthrie wrote "Deportee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos)" in 1948 after learning about a plane crash near Los Gatos, California, that killed mostly Mexican migrant workers who were being deported. He was inspired to write the song after reading news reports that focused on the white flight crew's names while referring to the Mexican passengers simply as "deportees". Guthrie felt the news coverage dehumanized the victims and aimed to give them names and recognition through his song.
