I'm guessing this was really posted by a server, not a customer, or a restaurant itself. A place on the bill for a Tip AND an Additional Tip? Come on now! Also, if a restaurant can sell $130 worth of food, it should be able to pay the wage for the server. My idea: FORGET the cost of the meal. It shouldn't matter if it is $30 or $400 check - tip the server according to the service provided. If you go by a percentage, or over $50 for a $130 bill as some people here have suggested (ridiculous!), you would be tipping $50 for a $30 meal if it was a low end meal. So that doesn't work. We should go back to 15% like it used to be - period.
