In 2020, as California Attorney General, I took the Trump Administration to court and WON, protecting $28.3 million in public safety funding from unlawful attempts to force our communities to carry out federal immigration enforcement.

That victory was one of many in my fight to defend California’s values and stand up to federal overreach.

The two discussed expanding health care access, tackling the housing crisis, growing the economy, supporting small businesses, protecting reproductive freedom, confronting climate change, and defending California and our democracy from Donald Trump’s assaults.
