I've seen many positions on this in line with the lady that bought a car. I wont speak on any personal story, just an overview of financial dealings in a family. I don't agree with any of the positions I have read so far. The very first marker I saw in all the arguments were red flags - "her money, his money"
As a married person, once you start looking at money as personal, it is a problem. It is irrelevant who has more money, every income is family income. All those talks of:
He is broke, she is rich
She can afford it, he can't
He is insecure about her money
The above are just nonsense. Before making purchases in a home, it is ideal to confer with your partner if "we" can afford it. It is not enogh that the money is there, are there more important expenses that needs to be covered, is the purchase right at this time, is that what the family needs now? How deep does it get in our pockets? Sure, you can get it, and I'll cancel XXX obligation so we can be fine till we are stable again.
A: Honey, I need a car. I've been stressed out lately with public transport and it would be good for my business and the family.
B: Can "we" afford it?
A &B then work through their financial commitments and responsibilities to see if they can afford it, when they can afford it, what model is convenient and how to make up for the set back if they are digging deep into their savings or income. If there is already a car in the home, they could agree for the partner to be using it while the other one takes public transport till they can afford two.
This is why, there are times you buy a gift for your partner and they are unhappy not because they don't like the gift but because based on their calculation of the family income, this is not what the family needs as it is not convenient where there are other important stuff to take care of.
You're not in competition with your partner. If you start doing "my money is my money," you can get yourself car when you like without your partner knowing, build houses without your partner knowing, invest without your partner knowing, do ridiculous shopping when you like. That is why men and women have assets their partner have no idea about even in death. Once the family is secondary, all hope is lost. It is small issues that lead to big problems that are irreconcilable.
That was how a lady refused to pay her children's fees because the man was having a bad financial season. In her words, "it is a man's responsibility and if he doesn't have, he should go and borrow." Then she took herself abroad for holiday. I mean her money is her money. It is also the reason you'll see a man refuse to meet his obligations at home while spending it outside as he likes because "my money is my money." "My money is my money" is also what promotes unhealthy competition among couples instead of cheerleading each other. You want to outdo each other and even respect becomes negotatiated on the altar of success not matrimonial vows and family commitment.
Man or Woman, you have to understand that you have a duty to your family. You'll enjoy every good thing but you must carry your partner along. It is accountability and it is for family stability. First, you have to do the job of choosing a right partner. Take your time to date and even cohabit to see if they have family values and include you in every plan and decision making in the best interest of your relationship.
This is my position.

Learn what to say when your friends lose someone.
“Sorry, I didn’t know what to say” stops being cute as you age.
Learn it because the older you get, the higher the probability of your friends losing someone.
Learn it from friends. From movies. From parents. Learn it.
Please.
And this is why I’m not a fan of patronizing church people. They’ll do nonsense work, have nonsense attitude and when you rightfully complain they’ll give you names. Ridiculous.
Sidebar: Parents, don’t yell at or beat your kids. If you know you can’t help yourself, please don’t tell them you’re doing so because you love them.
They will grow up believing that someone who yells at or hits them is showing love.
When they are being abused, they won’t know.
This time last year, I was earning 75k per month as salary while trying to find a face for my brand in Lagos, I don’t even think many of you here knew me, or that I was a photographer😅
I had a business debt of about half a million naira to clear!
I was staying with my mum!
I really wonder why Funsho Doherty's team are not making a strong campaign for him.
He is such a great candidate and his manifesto is the most realistic I have seen.

The irreverence, that deliberate rebellion that sponsors the audacity to use satanic themed imagery in music and fashion;
That spirit is of Satan, the opposer of God.
They're doing it as their hearts have been incepted to oppose God to mock him by identifying with his opposer.
@DrFeruke anointed servant who's a member of a political side, and God's endorsement is on the man not the political side. In this case, I believe irrespective of his preferences the man of God should side with God even publicly if he's convinced God so demands.
It's one thing to call Herod a fox.
It's another thing to tell the disciples to support Herod or take sides with Pilate or the council of Pharisees.
Calling out evil in leaders is not the same as being partisan. He called out the Pharisee leaders too.
The Lord wasn't partisan.
A lot of times, music is made to be about what it sounds or feels like. But music is not just about the beat or pace
The content is a huge part of music. A musician's voice or charisma can be impressive, But you must ask if it is HEALTHY for your soul?
