This morning, I captured another image of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) from the @LCOAstro site in the Atacama Desert, Chile ๐จ๐ฑโจ๐ฑ. The view was absolutely stunning !!! The comet is clearly visible visually. My gear: Nikon D810a camera with a 135mm lens. Exposure: 20 x 30 seconds. #Comet #Astronomy #Atacama #chile #TsuchinshanATLAS #cometa #CometC2023A3 #Tsuchinshan #C2023A3 #FollowTheComet
@KrazieCrypto@NikonUSA You donโt actually need expensive equipment. Any modern camera is already good enough. Here is what a captured with a smartphone, as an example:
I captured this image of the Milky Way's galactic core using my Samsung S25 Ultra smartphone in Chile's Atacama Desert ๐ That's right, it's smartphone astrophotography we are talking about here ! If you ask me why to use a smartphone? Well, challenge is everything and I am curious indeed & We are definitely living in the new era ! โจ
I captured this image of the great Comet C/2024 G3 ATLAS from Carnegie Las Campanas observatory in the Atacama desert in Chile. The comet was setting behind the domes of Magellan 6.5-m telescope, and what a majestic moment it was ! ๐คฉ The comet survived intense solar heating while undergoing partial disintegration, reached an exceptional peak apparent magnitude of โ3.8, and displayed prominent dust and ion tails that made it the brightest and most spectacular comet of the recent times.
I captured this image on the high-altitude plains (~15000 ft) in Bolivia as the Milky Way was rising above a small pond in the desert. What a serene scene ! The cold weather and lack of oxygen made it challenging, but the experience was unforgettable ๐
