I think Pierce will be proven correct, and the person who lands this role will be someone few of us see coming. I just don't think any of these guys scream 007 to me. Bond can't have baggage onscreen — he has to be a cipher, which is why an unknown is probably the way to go.

Binged all of #TheGentlemen over the weekend and wow, they killed it. The dynamic between Theo James and Kaya Scodelario is easily the best part. S1 was a great setup, but S2 took everything to the next level. Having to wait another two years for S3 is going to be torture.

After thinking over the latest #Lanterns episode: the gritty, detective tone is incredible, but the Zoe/Manhunter reveal was pretty obvious. Still, since it's only mid-season, I’m hoping there are bigger twists waiting down the line.

My gut says it's none of them. These names are just smoke and mirrors fabricated to hide the real contenders. We need to look again for a British actor in his 30s (ideally around 32, 36 at most), with a wide-open schedule, under the radar, but respected for his raw talent.

Jack Lowden: The clear standout of the bunch. Even so, at 36 and leading two spy series (Slow Horses and Berlin Noir), it isn't probable. I’d love to see it happen and be proven wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.
