@WhitbyPhotos Beautiful. We have a very similar image in our dining room at work.I care for people living with Dementia, and although at varying stages in their journey, if you ask the majority of them, they will tell you this is Whitby.Once seen, never forgotten 💗
dress their wounds, change medical devices&take their blood. All within the comfort of home. There is so much more to nursing within a care home than just "giving meds".
I am a Dementia Nurse and I love my job💗4/4
we tell bad jokes and can laugh for hours.I plan their care, liaise with specialists,do everything I can to look after their best interests.
I promote their independence,I protect their dignity,I know their medical history,I know their comorbidities,I know their pharmacology 3/4
I eat lunch with them to encourage them to eat well, I drink lots of tea with them to ensure they stay hydrated, I comfort them when they feel lost and afraid, I support them through periods of anxiety, distress and agitation, I dance and sing with them while they reminisce 2/4
Nursing people who are living through their journey with Dementia is truly the most rewarding💗I know my residents,I know their likes, their dislikes, their quirks, their triggers, their sense of humour.I get to know their family,I learn about their life story 1/4

I like to photograph wildlife in its environment and sometimes find that a “see/don't see” portrait is actually more interesting than a clear one. 1/4

@CostaCoffee Appalling service today at your Guiseley Store. Called in for a quick takeaway coffee. Having ordered and paid, left 15 mins later, without said coffee, as would be late for a meeting.
Stick to my usual store in future!!
6 years ago, a video of @songaminute, who has Alzheimer’s disease, singing in his son's car went viral. The former professional singer went on to release an album & raised over £150,000 for charity 👏 & now the 85-year-old is back with a second album!
